As a counseling psychologist, I have maintained a vibrant private therapy practice in Manhasset, NY, since 2000.

I specialize in adults, couples and adolescents. Always client-focused, I work to help you flourish and live your best life.

The enduring success of my practice is due in large part to my ability to connect with people and earn their trust. I combine supportive compassion and authenticity with gentle and targeted direction, a combination that truly gets results.

My areas of focus include the treatment of anxiety, depression, parenting difficulties, marital and couple conflict, challenging adolescent behaviors, and postpartum / fertility issues. In my work, I take a holistic therapeutic approach integrating a number of meaningful and helpful approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Meditation, Brainspotting, and EMDR. I have found that both Brainspotting and EMDR provide tremendous value in the processing of trauma that is not reliant on language or “talk therapy.”

As a licensed psychologist in the state of NY, I also offer clinical consultation to other mental health professionals. Please contact me for more information and to arrange a meeting.

In addition, I am a Full Professor at LIU Post, where I teach courses examining the dynamics of intimate relationships, optimal learning, and social resiliency. My lectures and courses at universities, schools, and community organizations have addressed topics such as anxiety and depression, bullying, and parenting skills. I am honored to have received the David Newton Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007.
